Job Purpose
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our Chemistry Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) department, part of our Product Development and Technology Operations organization. This internship offers experience in developing pharmaceutical products in accordance with regulatory requirements, exposure to real-world projects, and an opportunity to develop professional skills in a collaborative environment.
Essential Job Functions
- Research guidance from agencies such as FDA and USP to understand technical requirements for product development and ongoing product support
- Assist with preparing and reviewing study designs, data trend analysis, summary reports, risk assessments, and regulatory documentation
- Support the team in day-to-day operations as needed
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed
- At the conclusion of the internship, prepare a comprehensive review of the internship experience and present to the organization
Skills and Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or graduate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering or related field, and has completed a minimum of 2 years of undergraduate studies
- Returning to academic program at a credentialed institution for at least one semester post-internship
- Strong interest in pharmaceuticals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Prior classes in introductory chemistry, as well as organic chemistry and/or analytical chemistry
- Thrive in a fast-paced, diverse work environment

Working Conditions
This role is based in Xeris' Chicago office and requires five days per week in the office.
On-site requirement may change at management's discretion.

Compensation
The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $24.00 - $26.00.
We are committed to offering competitive compensation. Starting pay is determined based on a variety of factors, including the role, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education, internal equity, market data, and the location of the role, where applicable.
The level of the position will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. Final determination of the actual base salary offered depends on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skills, experience, education, location, and business needs. Employees are eligible for equity or long-term incentive awards, where applicable. Field Sales role employees are eligible for a quarterly commission structure. Non-Sales role employees are eligible for an annual bonus.
