Department Description

DNA-encoded technology (ET) is used to identify novel therapeutic compounds. This innovative approach enables the discovery of new drug candidates by leveraging the power of DNA sequencing and data analysis. Students will work as part of the ET Data Science/Engineering team located in Cambridge, MA, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and contributing to significant advancements in the field.

Job Description

We're seeking a Web App Developer Co-op for a full-time, 6-month position at our Cambridge, Massachusetts site, working alongside our engineering team to design, build, and deploy web applications using ReactJS and modern front-end tooling. The role offers hands-on experience across the full development lifecycle, from UI implementation to Docker-based deployment and CI/CD pipelines. Ideal for a student or recent graduate looking to gain real-world software development experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computational Science, or related disciplines.
  • Hands-on experience building web applications using ReactJS, including component design, state management, and integration with REST/GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience with Linux and Python programming.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and working with GitHub.
  • While GSK embraces a flexible work environment, we do require candidates who are hired to be onsite 3 full days a week.
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 6-month co-op (January ~ June 2027).
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with modern web app tooling and practices such as TypeScript, Redux/Context API, unit testing (Jest/RTL), and deployment via Docker images with CI/CD for front-end deployments.
  • Experience working in Cloud environment
  • Demonstrated ability to translate requirements into technical specifications
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of biology or chemistry

Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend.   • This job posting is for a temporary role as an employee of Atrium on assignment at GSK. The individual selected for this role will be offered the role as an employee of Atrium; compensation, medical benefits, fringe benefits and other terms and conditions of employment shall be presented by Atrium upon offer. The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on several factors, including educational degree obtained. In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirement.
