The Aerial PHY team works on the core wireless technology that helps power next-generation 5G and 6G networks. We build high-performance software for the physical layer of the radio access network, using GPUs to speed up sophisticated signal-processing tasks like coding, decoding, MIMO, and real-time data handling. Our work helps turn advanced research into real, deployable platforms for commercial networks and future 6G innovation, and we are looking to hire an intern for Summer 2027! This opportunity offers a chance to work at the intersection of wireless communications, CUDA/GPU programming, systems software, and AI for telecom.
What you will be doing
- Develop cutting-edge end-to-end reference system stack for 5G/6G baseband.
- Build and simulate sophisticated algorithms for 5G/6G PHY layer in Matlab/Python.
- Implement and optimize PHY features in C/C++/CUDA on a GPU platform based on 5G/6G spec.
- Support system integration, performance testing, system demonstration and lab trials for end-to-end system.
What we need to see
- Pursuing PhD or MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related.
- Strong background in the classic and AI/ML based algorithms for communication signal processing in wireless systems.
- Good understanding of the balance between algorithm performance and implementation cost.
- Programming skills in Matlab/Python and C/C++.
Ways to stand out from the crowd
- Familiarity with CUDA programming and NVIDIA GPU Architectures
- Familiarity with 3GPP, ORAN, FAPI standards related to 5G/6G.
