Position Summary

TBE is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern that will contribute to the development and integration efforts of Extended Air Defense Simulation (EADSIM). This internship is scheduled for a duration of approximately 3 months in the summer of 2027. Start and end dates are negotiable based on Spring and Fall school schedules.

This position requires the candidate to work on site in Huntsville, AL. The candidate is expected to provide their own housing during this internship.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update SysML-based system models using Cameo Systems Modeler Apply MBSE practices to support:
  • Requirements decomposition and traceability
  • Functional, logical, and system architecture development
  • Interface identification and analysis
  • Verification and validation planning
  • Collaborate with software engineers to ensure models reflect current system intent and engineering priorities, while improving or reshaping existing engineering workflows when model-based approaches provide clear benefit Communicate complex technical concepts clearly through diagrams, views, and model-based products

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Requires current enrollment in an accredited college or university with completion of at least two years toward a degree in Systems Engineering or a related field.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of developing system models using Cameo Systems Modeler Working knowledge of SysML, including:
  • Block Definition Diagrams (BDD)
  • Internal Block Diagrams (IBD)
  • Activity, sequence, and requirements diagrams
  • Understanding of core systems engineering principles, including:
  • Requirements management
  • System decomposition and architecture
  • Interfaces and system boundaries
  • System lifecycle considerations
  • Ability to apply engineering concepts in a practical, project-driven environment

Preferred Soft Skills:

  • Familiarity with digital engineering concepts and practices
  • Experience using GitLab
