What You Will Do

The Tactical, Communications, and Maintenance Applications (TCMA) team based in Huntsville, Alabama has new opportunities for individuals who want to grow their technical expertise on complex programs and be a part of an innovative and fast-paced avionics business area. Teams are composed of cross-functional engineers working in an AGILE environment focused on the design and development of software-only products. Our team focuses on creating avionics solutions for both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, including the integration of various radios and surveillance equipment for domestic and international military customers.

We are looking for an Intern, disciplined in Software Engineering to join our TCMA team in Huntsville, Alabama. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing Agile software engineering processes and activities.

  • Design, implement, and evaluate software in Ada, C++, Python within the Agile framework
  • Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with other engineers in the planning, design, development of military technology
  • Independently perform multiple tasks given support from a mentor
  • Implement requirements, detailed design, implementing software, integration, and verification in accordance with software development processes.
  • Accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborate with teammates in order to make the best decisions
  • Enjoy learning new technologies, be self-motivated and contribute to a positive work environment.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Must have a minimum of 29 hours of credit by the start of the internship
  • Familiarity with design and development using languages such as C, C++, Java,

  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, works well with others
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
