What You Will Do

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June-December (including the fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

  • You will design and develop software from functional and interface requirements.
  • You will debug flight critical software and perform associated system integration activities in a laboratory or a simulation environment.
  • You will create and or maintain software component unit tests.
  • You will develop requirement-based test procedures.
  • You will verify software performance through structural coverage analysis.
  • You will execute test procedures in support of formal software verification efforts.

What You Will Learn

  • You will gain knowledge of Head-Up Displays and Camera systems.
  • You will gain knowledge of software development in aerospace industry.
  • You will learn the latest industry software development tools, practices, and processes.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Experience in programming languages such as C, C#, Python, Perl.

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Have a GPA of 3.4 or higher.
  • Strong software and hardware debugging skills are preferred.
  • Coursework in embedded system development.

Onsite: Employees who are working in onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Salary Range:

37,000 USD - 82,000 USD

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
