Software Development Intern

What you'll do

• Develop new features and improve reliability of core services handling customer intake and information dissemination
• Identify system bottlenecks and business logic flaws, then proactively address them
• Own product problems end-to-end across the full stack without relying on other teams
• Participate in mentoring circles, interact with GDIT leaders, and engage in professional development

What they're looking for

• Currently enrolled senior in bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or STEM field
• Proficiency in Java or Python with strong language construct expertise
• Ability to solve complex problems and perform performance tuning
• Strong communication skills and self-awareness; minimum one semester remaining after internship

Pay and perks

• $22.95–$31.05 hourly (based on experience and location)
• Full-time, 10 consecutive weeks, 40 hours per week
• Hybrid work in Falls Church, VA; no travel required
