The Opportunity
P&G has an opportunity for a PhD intern to work in the Grooming Research & Development business to develop innovative new solutions at the intersection of Data Science, Generative AI and Cognitive Science. The work will focus on understanding how consumers perceive changes in their skin and hair before and after shaving. Using approaches such as computer vision, multimodal AI, and Generative AI, the goal is to identify the skin and hair characteristics that drive what consumers see and experience, and better connect technical product performance with consumer perception. The ideal candidate is a curious and proactive PhD student with strong scientific, analytical, and problem-solving skills who enjoys tackling open-ended research problems, working across disciplines, and developing creative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate multimodal GenAI approaches to understand skin and hair perception from images.
- Connect image-based measurements with consumer data to identify key visual drivers of perception and product experience.
- Build benchmarks, evaluation datasets, and metrics to assess model alignment with human perception.
