The Role
Fidelity is seeking a Quantitative Research Intern to join the Multi Asset Systematic Strategies (MASS) team. As a member of the Quantitative Research group, you will contribute to the research, development, and implementation of systematic investment strategies across equity index futures, sovereign bond futures, commodity futures and currencies. Core areas of focus include alpha generation, portfolio construction, and risk management.
Working alongside portfolio managers and quantitative researchers, you will help enhance the investment processes used to manage Fidelity mutual funds and client portfolios while supporting the development of new investment products and capabilities. Key responsibilities include:
Partner with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, and research analysts to conduct investment and market research that supports the team's objectives.
Research and develop systematic investment strategies, asset allocation frameworks, and portfolio construction methodologies.
Enhance quantitative models, research tools, and risk management capabilities.
Monitor academic research and industry developments related to alternative risk premia, quantitative investing, and portfolio management.
Analyze large datasets and apply quantitative techniques to generate research insights and investment recommendations.
Present research findings and recommendations to portfolio managers and other stakeholders.
Communicate complex quantitative concepts and research conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Master's and PhD students in financial mathematics, engineering, science, or related quantitative fields with anticipated graduation dates in late 2027 or early 2028
Strong working knowledge of data analytics languages (Python) and data management tools (SQL)
Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for working in a team environment
Familiarity with both cash and derivative instruments – equities, fixed income, futures, forwards, swaps and options is desirable
Highly proactive and self-motivated with the ability to meet objectives independently
Experience with Bloomberg/FactSet
Experience with conducting financial analysis like back-testing, computing statistical measures
The Team
Quantitative Research and Investing (QRI) is an investments and research division within Asset Management at Fidelity. QRI is responsible for managing and developing quantitative and hybrid quant/fundamental investment strategies and solutions while also providing high quality quantitative, data-driven research to Fidelity's investment professionals, ensuring they have access to the most relevant data and advanced quantitative analysis.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $50 - $77 per hour. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.
