### Job Purpose

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our Medical Communications team within Medical Affairs. This internship offers hands-on experience in Medical Review, with additional exposure to Medical Information, Publications, and Medical Communications, including real-world projects and an opportunity to develop professional skills in a collaborative environment.

### Essential Job Functions

Medical Review:

- Partner with Medical Review colleagues to evaluate promotional and medical materials for scientific accuracy, fair balance, and consistency with approved references and internal standards

- Participate in cross-functional Medical, Legal, and Regulatory review meetings as appropriate

- Contribute to process improvement projects, training materials, and knowledge management initiatives within Medical Affairs

- Support the team in day-to-day operations as needed

Medical Information, Publications, and Medical Communications:

- Support the development, review, and maintenance of Medical Information response documents, including standard and custom response letters, FAQs, and related contact center resources

- Assist with literature searches, data extraction, and evidence summaries to support accurate and balanced responses to unsolicited medical information enquires

- Help identify, report, and document potential adverse events or product quality complaints in accordance with company procedures

- Gain exposure and support identified traditional medical affairs activities, including publications and medical material development

- Assist with publication projects as needed and as determined by Director of Publications and Medical Communications

- Support the team in day-to-day operations as needed

Overall:

- Shadow various members of the Medical Affairs team including Executive Director, Regional Medical Affairs, Director of Publications & Medical Communications, Medical Director, Pharmacovigilance, Quality, and other cross-functional partners as identified

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed

- At the conclusion of the internship, prepare a comprehensive review of the internship experience and present to the organization

### Skills and Qualifications

- Students that have completed their second year in accredited healthcare doctorate level school programs

- Minimum GPA 3.0

- Must be willing to come onsite to Xeris' Chicago office Monday through Friday during business hours for 10 weeks/duration of the internship program (Manager and Intern)

- Strong interest in roles within Medical Affairs

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (eg, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

- Willingness to travel up to 10%

- Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Periodic travel may occur for conferences and other meetings as needed.

### Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $26.00 - $35.00.

The level of the position will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. Final determination of the actual base salary offered depends on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skills, experience, education, location, and business needs. Employees are eligible for equity or long-term incentive awards, where applicable. Field Sales role employees are eligible for a quarterly commission structure. Non-Sales role employees are eligible for an annual bonus.
