The Martin Center’s goal is to renew and fulfill the promise of higher education in North Carolina and across the country by educating citizens and policymakers and advocating policies grounded in classical liberal principles. Since 2003, the Martin Center has been a voice for excellence and accountability in higher education. We advocate responsible governance, viewpoint diversity, academic quality in teaching and learning, cost-effective education solutions, and innovative market-based reform.
Our approach to reform is twofold: First, we use “sunlight” to expose critical issues in higher education through opinion articles, newsletters, events, and research. Our work informs parents, alumni, taxpayers, and policymakers to spark conversation and policy change. Second, we promote actionable solutions for state legislators, university trustees, and other university decision-makers to improve higher education governance and practices. The Martin Center is located in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role is open to remote or in person work.
