Internship 2027 Validation & Verification Test Engineer

What you'll do

• Build and run test procedures to measure how actuators perform on equipment and test rigs
• Wire up sensors, establish data collection systems, and gather reliable measurements
• Measure response characteristics like delay, dead zones, and saturation across temperature and load variations
• Analyze field data versus simulated predictions and identify gaps
• Report findings to engineering teams with specific recommendations for model refinement
• Create scripts to streamline testing workflows and generate reports

What they're looking for

• Enrolled in or equivalent to BS, MS, or PhD program in mechanical, computer science, electrical, aerospace, or robotics
• Basic grasp of control theory or system identification methods
• Ability to write Python scripts for data processing
• Prior work with measurement instruments, data acquisition hardware, or experimental setups
• Comfort working directly with machinery outdoors while wearing safety gear
• Preferred: background with hydraulic systems, experience using robotics simulation tools, knowledge of ROS or similar frameworks
