### Summary

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience that provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and be part of our company. Our college interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored under their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the entire summer. Through the internship program, our interns can attend development workshops that are focused on key business concepts. Interns may work within the skills-based tracks of Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other non-technical and/or technical based degree programs.

- This is a paid 10-week summer internship from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).

- Interns may reside in either a technical or non-technical area.

- Development workshops are provided to help with the transition from school to the corporate environment.

- Housing is not provided as part of our program.

### Essential Accountabilities

- Specific duties will vary by assignment; specific divisional callouts are listed below.

- The summer intern will support strategic initiatives designed to improve community health outcomes through data-informed decision making, stakeholder engagement, and assessment of community-driven interventions. The intern will work closely with staff across community health, program implementation, and evaluation teams to advance priorities related to health equity, community-informed solutions, and continuous quality improvement.

- Follow-Up Analysis of Community Health Interventions

- Framework Development for Understanding Health Disparities

- Educational Programming for Health Equity Awareness

- Health Equity, Population Health, and Quality Landscape Analysis

- Community Advisory Group Review and Assessment Community

- Health Need Assessment Review and Recommendations

- Works with a mentor and supports key strategic projects.

- Completes work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.

- Performs a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks that will cover a broad range of business-related projects.

- Creates and delivers presentations at completion of internship.

### Minimum Qualifications

- Desired Majors/Degree Programs Include: Health Professions & Life Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Community Health, Biology, Social Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Human Services, Public Policy, Business, Management & Professional Studies, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Computing Sciences & Information Technology, Health Informatics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Geographic Information Systems or similar program(s)

- Preferred (but not required) experience with: Data Analysis, Public health awareness.

- High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).

- Must be in good academic standing.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all levels of the company.

- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail changing environment and deliver high-quality work product.

- Ability to work well in a team establishing good working relationships with peers.

- Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills.

- Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.

- Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.

### Physical Requirements

- Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.

- Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed.

### Compensation

Level I - Minimum $18.00 - Maximum $20.00

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position's minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components of the total rewards package may include participation in group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plan, wellness program, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
