Co-op Civil Engineer: Traffic - Spring 2027

What you'll do

• Support traffic signal optimization, including timing, phasing, coordination, and adaptive control systems.
• Conduct traffic flow analysis, capacity analysis, and simulation modeling using industry software.
• Develop transportation management plans to improve operations and reduce congestion.
• Design traffic elements like intersections, signal layouts, markings, and signage.
• Collect traffic data through counts, travel time studies, and speed studies.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and presentations with findings and recommendations.

What they're looking for

• Currently enrolled in accredited post-secondary civil engineering program.
• Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and organize information.
• Preferred: 2+ years of civil engineering coursework, AutoCAD/MicroStation experience, transportation interest.

Pay and perks

• $25.28 - $37.92 hourly in Massachusetts.
