As a department or division intern the role will assist in establishing and maintaining strategies to meet organizational objectives. Under the direction of a senior level employee or manager the individual will work on projects that support the business area goals and results. Completes tasks using both interpersonal and technical skills appropriate to the specific job assignment, while adapting to new or changing situations in a team environment.
Hourly rate - $25 - $31 per hour.
Primary Accountabilities
- Develop an understanding of the organization's business environment, corporate culture, and structure to support work initiatives.
- Open to and supports new ideas, systems, and procedures. Generate creative ideas and actions in response to changing situations.
- Supports and plans work on small projects with direction from management.
- May assume duties normally performed within the department, working alongside professionals who perform these roles.
- Presents project results to management and/or department personnel.
- Performs analytical work within the assigned functional area.
- Participates in projects related to application support, IT operations, business systems, process improvement, or technology initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
- Must be currently seeking a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree and be enrolled in an accredited college or university on a full-time basis, or as required by the university's co-op program.
- Must have achieved 24 semester hours of academic credit before beginning the first work term.
- Preferred degree programs include Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Coursework, academic projects, internships, or hands-on experience involving application support, software troubleshooting, IT support, systems administration, business applications, or related IT functions is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills preferred.
- Basic knowledge of software applications, operating systems, databases, or programming concepts is preferred.

This is a Hybrid position. Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius of the Madison, Wi. office and be able to report onsite a minimim 10 day in office attendance.
