Lightspeed Tech Center is a R&D department under Lightspeed Studios which develop PUBG Mobile and other high-quality games. Our Tech Center leads the research, exploration, and discovery of innovative technologies and provides technical services for all games during all phases of life cycle, including engine, audio, QA, AI, next generation game, technical cooperation, etc.

### What the Role Entails

- ゲーム分野における実務的な開発要件に応えるため、協調型強化学習を用いたゲームAIの開発を行う（MARL、ad-hoc teamwork、human-AI cooperation）。
- 強化学習、および大規模言語モデルや世界モデルとの融合技術に関する研究を推進し、汎用的・協調的なゲームエージェントの実現を目指す。
- 開発要件および研究テーマをゼロから推進する。課題設定・文献調査から、実験・実装・改善・成果創出までを主体的に進める。

- Develop game AI for cooperative reinforcement learning (RL) to meet practical development requirements in game contexts — including MARL, ad-hoc teamwork, and human-AI cooperation.
- Advance research on reinforcement learning (RL) and its frontier combinations with large language models (LLMs) and world models — targeting generalist and cooperative game agents.
- Drive development requirements and research topics forward from scratch — from problem formulation and literature review to experimentation, implementation, iteration, and results.

### Who We Look For

- 強化学習理論（価値ベース／方策勾配法、Actor-Critic、探索と活用など）に対する理解。
- 強化学習アルゴリズムの実装、ならびにRL（および関連する機械学習）モデルの訓練・チューニング・最適化における確かな実務能力。
- コンピュータサイエンス、機械学習、または関連分野において、博士課程在籍者（歓迎）、もしくは修士号以上を有すること。

Preferred:

- 協調型マルチエージェント強化学習（MARL）、アドホックチームワーク、またはゼロショットの人間とAIの協調に関する知識・経験。
- 強化学習と大規模言語モデル／基盤モデルを組み合わせたエージェントへの関心・経験。
- トップカンファレンス（NeurIPS、ICML、ICLR、CVPR等）での論文発表経験。
- 中国語または日本語のバイリンガル能力。

Requirements

- Solid understanding of RL theory (e.g., value-based / policy-gradient methods, actor-critic, exploration-exploitation).
- Demonstrated capability in implementing RL algorithms and in the end-to-end training, tuning, and optimization of RL and related machine learning models.
- Currently pursuing a PhD (preferred) or at least a Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.

Preferred:

- Familiarity with cooperative multi-agent RL (MARL), ad-hoc teamwork, or zero-shot human-AI cooperation.
- Interest or experience in RL + LLM / foundation-model agents.
- Publications in top conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, or CVPR).
- Bilingual proficiency in Chinese or Japanese.
